Objective: The Supreme Court of India in its landmark NALSA judgment declared that transgenders should get reservations in education and employment. It has been 10 years since the NALSA judgment but neither the Central Government nor the State Government has provided reservation, in employment, to the transgender community. So the theme of this year’s PCMC LGBTIQ pride walk is a demand made to the state government of Maharashtra for providing 1% (One Percent) horizontal reservations in government jobs for the transgender community.
Grand Marshall: Transgender Activist from Pimpri Chinchwad Smt.Nikita Mukhyadal will be the Grand Marshall for this pride walk.
